DeLonghi Espresso Machines for Sale – Review
DeLonghi makes some of the least expensive espresso machines on the market, at about a hundred dollars apiece. Often, they can be found at even lower prices. However, this doesn't mean that they're not useful machines. While you're sure to get what you pay for to some degree, the end result is a reasonable low end machine for those just getting started. However, you'll need to pay close attention to what you're doing to get the most out of this machine - the included instructions don't make a great cup of espresso.

DeLonghi Espresso Machines - An Inexpensive Choice - A Review
Espresso machines from DeLonghi are easy to clean and use, offer excellent value of the price, and start up fast. They operate with coarser grinds that the usual espresso type, as well. Downsides include the pressurized filter, the relatively small reservoir, the high plastic content of the machine and the short steam wand, as well as the low quality of the instructions included. If you're willing to work around these problems, however, this very inexpensive espresso machine can produce great results.
DeLonghi High End Espresso Machine: While it's true that the DeLonghi espresso makers are, by and large, lower priced, and basically entry level equipment, there is a truly superb espresso maker called the DeLonghi Esclusivo Magnifica Super-Automatic Machine.
Unfortunately, when you make coffee according to the instructions included with DeLonghi's espresso machines, you'll often find you have an extremely bitter shot with a great deal of crema. To get around this, you'll need to start with a high quality grinder which can produce an extremely even, not too fine grind of espresso. Most blade grinders will not do this. A 51 millimeter tamper will alos be needed. Depressurizing the filter is also important - this is an easy step that will reduce bitterness.
The machine should be given twenty minutes to a half hour to warm up, then then coffee should be added - about sixteen to seventeen grams, not the twelve recommended in the manual. The coffee needs to be tamped before loading, and a blank shot run before you make your espresso. Then, it's time to place a warm cup under the nozzle and turn the brew switch on. Thirty seconds later, shut off the DeLonghi espresso machine and enjoy your cup. If you'll be making more than one shot, wait at least one minute before removing and cleaning the filter to prevent spillage.
This may seem like a great deal of effort to get a good shot out of a low end machine, but for those who are interested in trying home espresso making without spending much money, it offers a great opportunity. After all, a DeLonghi espresso machine can be found for a fraction of the cost of most other entry level machines. For those who want their espresso to be easy to make and require less effort, a more expensive machine is worth it, but if you don't want to spend much and enjoy experimenting, this might be the right choice for you.
