The machine you choose will depend on what you're looking for out of your espresso. This company's basic range makes a good quality espresso, but not a top notch one, and doesn't provide a lot of customization. Capresso Espresso Machines Have Something for Everyone
Capresso's high end C3000 is a programmable machine that can accommodate tall travel mugs, and makes the process of producing drinks a much faster one. Within twenty seconds, a high quality cappuccino is ready to drink, and once the machine's been set up to the users's preferences, the same drink can be produced again and again, without danger of accidentally changing the settings. This automatic machine also allows for temperature adjustment.
Downsides include the high price and primarily plastic body. The overall aesthetic of Capresso machines is good, with an attractive design sensibility that works well in most kitchens. If you really want the convenience and reliability of an automatic espresso maker, it's worth it to pay the high price of one of Capresso's high end line. The results are excellent, every time, and you have only to press a few buttons to get a good product in seconds.
Entry Level Machines
At the other end of the range is Capresso's entry level machine, the EspressoPro at around two hundred to two hundred fifty dollars. This is a very low priced machine that produces good quality shots and crema, but requires the user to do a lot more. It offers fast heat time and consistent product, especially for a beginner's machine. Materials are reasonable quality, and the construction is solid, though some have had trouble with reliability in the long term.
Unfortunately, very fine grinds can choke the filter, and the unit can only be repaired by sending it in to Capresso - it's not user serviceable. This type of machine uses thermoblock technology, and is subject to its limitations. Thermoblocks make good, but not great espresso in general. However, for people who are getting into making their own specialty coffee drinks at home, they can be a great introduction without the need to empty your wallet.
Capresso's machines are generally considered to be high in quality and reliable, no matter which type you're looking for. While you can expect to get what you pay for to a degree (you'll need more expertise to use an entry level espresso maker, and there are fewer features), even the low end of Capresso's line produces good quality, consistent espresso to satisfy buyers.
